Resolution Preparation For The Older Young Woman

Are you an older young woman? I am. I am the 42 year old 30 year old. I enjoy all the confidence that comes with a little age and the mind set that defines the younger woman. I know who I am and women like me aren't ready to grow old yet. We still have goals set for ourselves and we aren't afraid to make things happen. We have made our place at work, home, and in the community, and we want to keep it. We want to feel that we are at this magical place in our life where time stands still for us. When we think of where we are in life, we think we are in our prime. Am I vain? No, definitely no, but do I still scope out a room to see what my rank is among the women. Sometimes.

The research and thought for my upcoming New Year's Resolutions focuses around one question. What can the older young woman do to maintain her current status? The following ideas are things to consider as you--the older young woman decide your next year.

1. Make smarter choices about food.
Remember we want to enjoy the zest of life, but avoid gaining frivolous pounds. Be prepared to save your calories for that dining experience.
2. Figure out an exercise program that works for your personal situation.
I run in the summer since that is when I have more time. During the other seasons it will vary from floor exercises to light weights.
3. Work towards getting finances under control.
Worrying about finances is terrible for your disposition. It's a stress that only works against us staying young.
4. Set a personal goal in the major areas of your life.
Pick a goal for work, home, and community and make it happen. Remember the older young woman has potential. Any goal she really wants to accomplish is doable.
5. Get organized.
Keeping your surroundings organized means there is less work for you to do before you focus on the important things.
6. Adjust your attitude and aptitude.
Your thoughts about what you can do affects your ability to do.
7. Read.
As we strive to be all we can, we need inspiration and direction. Choosing a book to read can inspire us to continue with zest.
8. Find time for yourself.
Choose a little time to do what makes you unique or do something that you have always wanted to do. Have some me-time.
9. Work on personal relationships.
Keeping relationships strong takes work. Concentrate on making the most of the relationships in your life. Remember children grow up, parents get older, and spouses change so our relationships need to be reassessed and altered to meet these changes.
10. Get help when you need it.
When you get to a point where you need help with a situation, find a source. The older young woman is mature enough to realize when she needs help and she isn't so insecure that she can't ask for it.

These ten things are the basic thoughts I have for my resolutions for the new year. With any luck they will lead me into making some resolutions that will ensure my older young woman status for another year.
